As I’ve previously mentioned, festivals are my favourite part of the year, and in preparation I have been researching the latest unique and fabulous make up looks for the festival season.
Glitter of course is the main feature and it looks fab painted under the eyes with gems placed amoungst it. Now not only does it look fabulous, but it hides the dark circles around yours eyes from the probable lack of sleep that you’ll get, and you don’t even have to wash it off, it’s the kind of look that can pull of fading and you can always top it up the next morning!
WARNING! Glitter does get everywhere, so be prepared to have glitter on everything you own for that weekend including your tent and sleeping bag, don’t ask me how it gets there, it just does. But for a girl who loves glitter it’s hardly a downside!
Face glitter is exetrely cheap and easy to get, I recommend Amazon, because it comes quicker, but places like Topshop and Asos sell them too!
I hope this has given you a bit of inspiration, I know I’ll be recreating these looks this summer and I hope you do to!
I am a great festival lover, I wait all year for festival season, and it’s coming up and I’m getting very excited. So apologies, but I will be blogging a lot about festivals in the coming months so warning!
Now I don’t know about anyone else, but I hate lugging a bag around the arena, so my mum discovered the best thing ever! It’s simple but genius. It’s a little Lacey pouch that perfectly fits my phone with a clasp that attatches tightly onto clothing, it is designed to attatch to your bra so you can wear a top over it and no one will notice. But if you’re wearing a crop top and it shows, it doesn’t matter because it’s a pretty cover! As a festival goer I would definitely recommend as it is a handy, trendy and safe way of protecting your phone!
I am a massive green tea lover, I have at least one cup a day, and I also love wacky things! So for Christmas I was given by someone who clearly knows me very well, a box of Blue Chai Tea from Germany (easily available on the big wide web), and yes it is just as weird and as wonderful as it sounds! You leave a handful of these beautiful purple flowers in a teapot of boiled water, and in five minutes it’s blue, it tastes surprisingly similar to normal green tea but with a slightly fruitier taste. So to balance out the sweetness I added some lemon juice, and the drink instantly turned pink! It was amazing, I would definitely recommend, if not for the taste, but for the sheer fun of having multicoloured tea! x
One of the things that I am most proud of is my heritage; my grandfather was Goan (from a part of India on the coast), he moved to England to become a doctor but never forgot his family back at home. And in 2013 I was lucky enough to go and visit there with my family, not only was it incredible to meet my Goan relatives for the first time, but India was unlike any place I had ever been before. You are flooded with heat, spices, and colours the moment you land. I loved the crowded markets with thousands of people selling everything to carefully handwoven clothing, to the brightest hottest spices (that my dad still cooks with today). The food was unreal, packed with flavours, the tuktuks were so much fun and the old buildings were beautiful. I loved how you could completely immerse yourself and not be a tourist, but get a flavour of the treasures that India have to offer, eat the food, drink the drink (I personally became addicted to Limca, I sort of lime lemonade, which was perfect for the Indian heat). I hope to go again one day, and I hope these photos and my complete adoration for this place will convince some of you to go to.
For my first post I thought it would be appropriate to explain why I have avocados in my blog title; for about three years they have been my absolute favourite food. Now believe me when I say this is very unusual, I’m the kind of girl who will gorge herself on cake and bacon and cheese (not all at once), so to find something I loved that was green near gave my mother a heart attack! The thing with avocados is that not only do they taste good on their own, but they go with basically every savoury food, and you can eat them at any time of the day! I usually have it in the morning in a bagel covered in sesame seeds or when I have to make my own lunch I have avocado with something (usually bacon and cheese, because come on who wouldn’t?), my go-to meal every time. In fact I will probably post a few avocado recipes at some point. And the phrase “avocados are trending” I took from a cute little tshirt that I found in Manhattan that despite how perfect it was for me I stupidly didn’t buy and have regretted it ever since. So this post goes to you, long lost tshirt, and to all you avocado lovers out there!
Hi anyone and everyone,
My name is Izzy and I’m a 17 year old from Oxford. My passions include photography, travelling, dance, beauty, fashion and food (of course). I want to travel the world and at some point live in New York City, true joys in life are festivals and my friends. I hope to somehow convey all of this in my blog, posting about things I love and do, I can’t promise my posts will be cultural and intellectual all the time, mostly it will just be things I see or do that I think are cool!
I hope you enjoy, and have a nice day!
